Education:

CCI’s Energy Education programs are designed to foster environmental awareness, increase energy education and cultivate resource conservation. The programs include, CCI Building Tours that focus on using our “Green” building as a teaching tool in energy conservation and responsible energy use. Utility Programs:

Many utility companies have federally-funded Energy Assistance programs for low-income households. These programs help their low-income customers conserve electricity, gas and water thereby aiding them in saving money on their bills. Conservation Consultants holds contracts with many of western Pennsylvania’s Utility companies to provide these services. For example CCI provides energy audit services for eligible low-income Duquesne Light customers through the Duquesne Light Smart Comfort Program. This program includes a walk-through audit of the customers home, a digital wattage measurement of high-use appliances, a bill breakdown of electricity consumption, free compact florescent light bulbs and many helpful tips concerning appliance use and maintenance.

CCI also conducts a program for Pennsylvania American Water called the Help to Others (H20) program. Through H20, eligible customers receive free water saving devices and plumbing repairs to help them save water.

CCI also administrates insulation/weatherization programs for Dominion People’s, Equitable and Columbia Gas companies. These programs offer blown in insulation for eligible customers to help them save resources and money on their gas bills. Esmart3 Energy Audit:

CCI offers this residential energy audit for a fee of $150. It is similar to a check-up that you would receive from a doctor, expect it’s your house that’s being examined and the doctor is one of our experienced Energy Auditors. A trained professional from CCI will asses the energy consumption of your home and lay out a prioritized list of needed weatherization measures. We can also make unbiased referrals to the specific contractors who can best serve you. We call it Esmart3 because it offers three energy smart things, Smart advice so you can make Smart decisions and realize that these are also Smart investments which will help to protect our natural resources and the environment.
