Education and Outreach Programs
CCI was started by educators, so promoting responsible energy use through education has always been an important part of our mission. CCI offers programs for students (grades 4 - 12), Green Building tours, and expert speakers that can address energy efficiency or renewable energy issues for your service club, community group, church group, or other organization. CCI also designs custom energy education programs for schools related to Green Building, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation.

Utility Programs
All public utilities in Pennsylvania offer conservation and efficiency programs that help their customers to reduce demand and save money. These programs range from simple on-line home energy assessment tools that provide energy saving tips to comprehensive, whole home energy audits, weatherization and emergency repairs for income-qualified customers. Utilities offer these programs to improve customer payment behavior and reduce arrearages because the utility bills are more affordable. CCI provides an assortment of services designed to meet the needs of public utilities ranging from program administration to home energy audits and inspections to the distribution of water saving kits.

Residential and Small Commercial Energy Audits
CCI offers several types of energy audits to homeowners, home builders and small businesses each designed to fit different needs and budgets. CCI has some of the most experienced and knowledgeable energy auditors in the area, several of whom have over twenty years experience in the field and have received advanced building science training.

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
Part of the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides funding to weatherize homes by adding insulation, sealing leaks and modernizing heating and air conditioning equipment. The program runs through March of 2012 and is available to families making up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level, or, about $44,000 a year for a family of four. Local community based organizations are reaching out to CCI to provide energy audits and post-weatherization inspection services to ensure that these Federal dollars are being spent both wisely and effectively. Fayette County Better Buildings Initiative
CCI is partnering with the Fayette County Redevelopment Authority and Columbia Gas of PA to assist homeowners to reduce their energy use through a variety of weatherization improvements made possible through a $4.1 million grant provided by the U.S. Department of Energy with the goal of reducing energy usage. Incentives will be provided in the form of rebates to help residents obtain an energy assessment of their homes and to implement measures to make their homes more energy efficient and reducing their overall energy costs.
